The Open Conspiracy by H.G. Wells

I've been reading H.G. Wells' "The Open Conspiracy" published in 1927. This book openly advocates the case for world government. The argument is very convincing and seductive. The case is very convincing to anyone who wants to end war and enter an era of world wide cooperation.
Not that it was a new idea. It wasn't. Cecil Rhodes and his followers had been advocating for years the development of a world dominated by the British Imperial system.
But 80 years later, you have to consider the source and subsequent events. We know that H.G. Wells was a propagandist working for British intellegence. As such, everything he wrote must be considered suspect. As we now know, his fictional work "The Time Machine", published in 1895, was a skillful example of predictive programming where he creates a future vision so that the commoners are conditioned to accept it without resistance when it, or some form or it, inevitably happens (ditto for Aldous Huxley's Brave New World which he admitted in 1963 was not fiction but based on the future vision of the elite as described to him by his brother). In the case of the Time Machine, there is a split in the human species into two separate species with one preying on the the other (there's probably an inside joke there). This is definitely in the cards for the future. Additionally, we know he was a member of the elite and worked to advanced their agenda.
So, in that light, I conclude it is a skillful piece of propaganda targeted at an intelligent and idealistic pool of recruits who could be enticed to serve the elite's one world government agenda. Of course, they would never be allowed to understand the true agenda for the ultimate goal of a post industrial, high tech fuedalism (slavery).
Since its publication, we have seen the advancement of the march to world government as he suggested but in secret rather than in the open as he suggested. He said "The Open Conspiracy against the traditional and now cramping and dangerous institutions of the world must be an Open Conspiracy and cannot remain righteous otherwise. It is lost if it goes underground." Well, I have news for you, it has gone underground. It is open only in the sense that the information detailing its existance can be found for anyone with the time and energy to look but unknown to the public at large. He even said "A successful Open Conspiracy merely to seize governments and wield and retain world power would be at best only the empty frame of success. It might be the exact reverse of success. Release from the threat of war and from the waste of international economic conflicts is a poor release if it demands as its price the loss of all other liberties." Again, consider the source. As an elitist progagandist, this warning about the "loss of all other liberties" may indeed have been the point of the whole effort. The elite do appear to love announcing the opposite of what they are going to do. Given the current rise of police states world wide in all western nations, this is very likely.
There are a number of telling words and admissions I find of interest. For example the use of the words and phrases like "the intelligent portion of mankind" and "right-minded people" that give away the game for anyone who is aware of the game. It is really speaking to the elite but the subtlety of the message will be lost on the vast majority of people including those its intended to recruit to serve the agenda.
Here are some of my favorite quotes thus far:
"This candid attempt to take possession of the whole world, this Open Conspiracy of ours, must be made in the name of and for the sake of science and creative activity." For whom?
"Suffice it for us here that the world community of our desires, the organized world community conducting and ensuring its own progress, requires a deliberate collective control of population as a primary condition." Who is represented by "us" and "our desires"?
"Suffice it for us here that the world community of our desires, the organized world community conducting and ensuring its own progress, requires a deliberate collective control of population as a primary condition." What have they done since then to make this happen? Birth control, sterilization, vaccines?
"Manifestly the supreme direction of the complex of human economic activities in such a world must centre upon a bureau of information and advice, which will take account of all the resources of the planet, estimate current needs, apportion productive activities and control distribution." This sounds like centralized elite control to me.
"And when we come to the general functioning classes, landowners, industrial organizers, bankers, and so forth, who control the present system, such as it is, it should be still plainer that it is very largely from the ranks of these classes, and from their stores of experience and traditions of method, that the directive forces of the new order must emerge." No kidding, has it ever been any different. Traditions of method - they've been up to it for a long time then. Who control the present system? You probably didn't know and weren't told you were still controlled. You/we are controlled to this day period.
"Its opening task must be the elaboration, exposition, and propaganda of this common idea, a steady campaign to revolutionize education and establish a modern ideology in men's minds and, arising out of this, the incomparably vaster task of the realization of its ideas." Propaganda? Revolutionize education? Today, the main stream media we know is about propaganda and censorship, and the education system is controlled, mandated and indoctrinating the young to accept a new world view.
"If constitutions, parliaments, and kings can be dealt with as provisional institutions, trustees for the coming of age of the world commonwealth, and in so far as they are conducted in that spirit, the Open Conspiracy makes no attack upon them." If you are a good dictator and play by our rules and aims, you'll be left alone, otherwise you'll have to be destroyed. Hmmm, all the Middle East and much of South America falls into this group.
And I'm only half way through the book. Well, it's just another example of the fact that the globalist/elitist agenda to dominate the world is out in the open for all that have the courage to look and face the truth.
