Bees are Dying

April 27, 2007
A very serious food crisis is looming on the horizon. In Canada and the US 60+ percent of the honey bees have died this past winter compared to the usual 10-20%.
Their immune systems have been somehow compromised and their intestinal tracks have been overwhelmed by multiple infections which is ultimately leading to their deaths.
Why is this important? Well, the fact of the matter is that bees are the primary pollinator of our commercially grown crops. No bees = no pollination = less food = less humans.
The cause of this food potential crisis appears to the GMO crops.
The primary GMO crops are corn, wheat, canola, cotton, soy, and to a lesser degree others like tomatoes, papaya, flax, cantaloupe, chichory and papaya. The incidence of bees dying is higher in countries where GMO crops is higher.
On a personal note, I feel like a canary in a coal mine and have no tolerance for any of these foods and now have to avoid them completely despite the fact that I did not have problems with them when I was younger.
Other reports, largely by the main stream press, have indicated cell phone use as a possibility for the colony collapse but this seems unlikely since the effects have been seen in many developing countries where cell phone use is very limited but GMO crop use is prevalent.
While some of the main stream press did report on it for a day, they clearly do not understand the implications (or don't want to or have been ordered not to). If they did, this would be the number one story in the land today. Of course, the Monsanto lobby has likely taken steps to ensure you never hear about it again.

And do some searches on GMO and honey bees. This is very, very bad and will only get worse if we continue to expand our use of GMO crops.
