Today, I attended the now annual World Against War Day. There were about 300 people at the event including lots of young people which was good to see. As part of the event there was a great war resister / speaker from Alabama who read a very moving poem that I wish I had so I could share it with you.
As part of the event they showed the video "Let Them Stay" which you can view below. I feel so ashamed to be a Canadian today when our government no longer allows U.S. war resisters to stay in Canada and is doing everything it can to send them back to face court martial. Trudeau for all his failings got something right in allowing U.S. Vietnam war resisters to come to Canada. The Canadian government does not represent the people anymore and Harper is merely a vassal of U.S. foreign policy. They say jump and our government says how high. It is utterly pathetic to witness - gee mister U.S. president do you need anything else we can provide - we've given you all our oil and other natural resources, we've destroyed the rights of our citizens so we can still ship our products to you, we've supplied you with armaments, we've used our Navy to support the war in Iraq, given you our top generals to serve in Iraq, we've sacrificed our sons by taking on the hard fighting in Afghanistan, we've signed the SPP giving away our sovereignty to you but excuse me sir is the anything else we can do to make you accept us as equally compliant servants of the globalists that you are. Please tell us how and we will comply. Disgusting.
