Shell Oil Bag Man

April 3, 2007
Here is a juicy little tidbit I learned recently about Shell Oil.
This person told me that his/her father was a literal bag man for Shell Oil back in the 60's era. The father's job was to deliver huge bags of 100 dollar bills to Central and South American government officials in payment of political favors for Shell Oil.
The father revealed this information after a few too many drinks to the then teenager and showed photographs of piles of money.
And even a few life and death moments when the political officials being bought off showed up with 10-20 armed soldiers.
Of course, you have to take this for what its worth but, given the history of that region, it's probably true.
But its OK, that kind of corruption could never happen here. Our public officials are all saints and completely about temptation. Yah right.
