What Constitutes a Truly Human Society?

June 28, 2007
Big question. First, here are my thoughts on current socio-economic systems.
1) The current economic system based on money and capitalism is not human. It is inherently anti-human and psychopathic in nature where the most ruthless end up in positions of power and privilege. This is not surprising since it is the elite's system and they set it up this way deliberately.
2) Corporatism always leads to Fascism and destruction and impoverishment of the people.
3) Communism and any big government political system is alway co-opted by the same ruthless people and ends in totalitarianism.
4) History shows us that any government given too much power becomes tyrannical - socialist, communist or corporatist.
5) Experience has shown me that only about 10% of the population has any sense of idealism/altruism. The rest are motivated by self interest. This is why capitalism produces more than communism and why the elite have been able to exploit us so successfully for so long. And why both systems are being merged currently - economically capitalist and politically/socially communist. Productive slavery.
6) I've come to view politics not as left/right socialist/corporatist but as a compromise between freedom and control. This puts anarchy at one end and totalitarianism (fascist or communist) at the other end. The key is to find the right balance and find a way to prevent falling into either.
7) The current society is (by design) decadent, vain, indifferent, selfish, separated from each other, separated from other generations and uncaring of others.
8) Western prosperity is based upon exploitation of the undeveloped countries resources through our corporations, the IMF and World Bank.
9) The current society is created and controlled by the elite - not the political and business elite most people think of, but the ultra rich elite that stand above them and give them their orders. This has been the case for at least 2,500 years. They define what people think and believe (psychology, religion and media), control the economic system, control all western political systems, control and rewrite history, control the foundations, the UN and NGOs, control and restrict scientific advances, and how society functions and exploit parasitically the labor of the people.
I think the whole thing needs to be phased out and a more human system brought in. The current system of exploiter and exploited is inherently not human.
The goals of a new system then would be to create a modern human society that maximizes freedom, minimizes control, is caring and compassionate for others, egalitarian as possible, where people are connected to others, personally motivating, and ethical. That is a pretty tall order given the current state of affairs and the contradictions. It's hard to reconcile self interest and egalitarianism for example. To create a truly human society would probably require several generations to reintroduce ethics, morals, personal growth, and true caring for your neighbors as dominant values rather than the soul crushing accumulation of useless crap, self-indulgence and excess we have today.
After the elite are exposed and defeated, an open and inclusive society wide debate is needed to determine what kind of society we should have.
