Over the years I have, despite my natural inclination to technical and more pragmatic pursuits, written a number of amateur poems and songs. Sometimes, I think I really am an idealist after all - albeit a very cynical one. Personally, I think the songs (many based on the poems) are better, but you can let me know your opinion. Lots of love, agony and despair - avoid it if you're not into that sort of thing.

Additionally, I drew a number of pictures during my trip to Central America and even a few after. You can view the drawings, such as they are, in the photo gallery. Most of the drawings were done by outlining in pen (no second chances) then colorized with felt markers bought at the market in Guatamala and later Mexico. A palette of 24 colors made for interesting choices. I've been told that I draw like a child but it that only makes me feel good. It reminds me of Paul Portois (sp?) who I knew when I was growing up in Campbell River. At the age of 13, he painted a pheasant in art class the likes of which I could not believe possible. An exact replica of a photograph. It still stuns me to this day. And not only that, he could run like the wind...well fast enough to beat me anyway. Enjoy!
